Hamid Janverson, a 25-year sheet metal repairman, found himself increasingly frustrated by the old method of removing dents: resistance-welding a copper stud to the dent surface, clamping to it with a slide hammer, and repeatedly using the hammer until the dent is raised. The slide hammers are imprecise, hard on the hands, and make a lot of racket, so Janverson invented the Stud Buddy. It’s an ingenious set of pliers designed to grip the stud, and with a broad surface pad resting on the work surface, act as a Class 2 lever. We’ve tried them and the precise control delivers fast and accurate dent fixes. A simple, excellent design.
